Douglas Baggio
may not be a name familiar to most people, however he came under the spotlight
after his great performance for Flamengo at the u-17 level. He scored an
impressive 72 goals in 53 games helping them win the Rio state championship. A
player with great finishing, vision and an eye for goal Baggio is an impressive
young boy who enjoys playing football. He can play the role of striker or
supporting striker. His great touch and vision allows him to deliver great
passes to teammates and his great eye for goal, as demonstrated with his 72
goal season, can help him become one of the most sought after strikers in the
near future.
Baggio is quick
and has great control when the ball is at his feet. He is not afraid to take on
defenders, and in most cases he is able to beat them with ease. In his role he
is able to pick out the right passes and assist the team in whichever way
possible. He has had many comparisons to Ronaldinho, not only when Ronaldinho
was recently at Flamengo, but even after. His ability to pick out the right
pass and the creativity his uses on the pitch leads many people to make the
comparison. Although he is just 18 years old, it is not unknown for Flamengo to
promote their young players into the first team. Baggio, is surely the next in
line. With his remarkable efforts on the field and his clear passion for the
game, Flamengo definitely have a star in Douglas Baggio.
With time on his
hands, Baggio needs to continue to perform to the high standards he sets and
slowly but surely he will break in to the first team. It is crucial he is able
to garner some first team experience before he can make the bigger jump to a
European club. After his sensational year in 2012, many clubs including
Chelsea, Real Madrid, Napoli and AC Milan have watched and are tracking the
progress of Douglas Baggio. Maybe soon we will see him step on to the field on
a Tuesday or Wednesday night for Champion’s league football. The future is
bright for Douglas Baggio, and maybe he will be the next big thing to come out
of Brazil.

Great player!! Fast on his feet and great vision of the game!! Too bad he is playing for flamengo cause they delay salaries like no else it's a shame for being such a big club in brasil. Either way I think he would do very well in Europe as he gains strength and gets more disciplined tactically.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog keep it up!!!
