Hariss Harun is a Singaporean Player who plays for Lions XII
in the Malaysian Super League. His best position is in the Center of midfield
playing as a defensive midfielder. Recently he has been in the media after a
friendly against Atletico Madrid, where the manager Diego Simeone praised
Harun’s efforts during their match. Previously, football Agent Jorge Mendes was
quoted saying that he envisioned Harun playing in a European Team in the
future. Harun, being Singaporean has a mandatory Military Service requirement
that may slim his chances playing in Europe.
As a footballer Harun is vital in the center of midfield.
His precision passing and hard tackling makes him an ideal defensive
midfielder. His great control when receiving the ball and ability to lay off
the ball to a teammate with great precision makes him a very useful midfielder.
Defensively he is a hard tackler of the ball and very persistent with his
marking. A hardworking player, Harun has a never give up attitude.
I have likened him to Alex Song and Xabi Alonso due to his
qualities as a defensive midfielder. Not as refined as Xabi Alonso, however
Harun’s long passing and ability to pick out a player sitting back in midfield
show the qualities of his passing. His strong tackles on opponents and great
defensive work for the team show similar qualities to Fernando. Harun is also
seen trying to dictate the midfield tempo, which allows him to pass the ball
either short or long distances. These qualities make Harun an ideal defensive
playmaker to have in your team. Maybe we shall see Harun in Europe in the near
future, he is a talent that is begging to be realeased on to the big stage.
